Meaty Chili 2 lb Ground beef
1 qt Tomato juice
29 oz Can tomato puree
15 oz Can red beans, drained
1 md Onion, chopped
1/2 c Diced celery
1/4 c Diced green bell pepper
1/4 c Chili powder
2 ts Cumin
1 1/2 ts Garlic powder
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Black pepper
1/2 ts Oregano
1/2 ts Sugar
1/8 ts Cayenne pepper, or more to taste
Brown beef in large skillet; drain. In 6-quart pot, combine beef,
juice, puree, beans, onion, celery, bell pepper, chili powder, cumin,
garlic powder, salt, pepper, oregano, sugar and cayenne; cover pot.
Simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes. Makes 16 (9-ounce)
servings.
